Graduation

June 16-17, 2018

If you’ve been to a BCA graduation weekend before, then you’ll know that it is an experience that is fairly exceptional in the Canadian landscape of high school graduations.  We have several key events that are each well attended and highly anticipated.

On Saturday afternoon, we start with our “Grad Processional Program” in which each graduate is presented on the stage of Hildebrand Chapel while a description of their future plans and notes of gratitude are read by our student emcees.  This is followed by the “Graduation Banquet” (by invitation only) and later in the evening by the “Grad Family Celebration” (open to all); this latter event provides an opportunity for each graduate to express their thanks to their family members in their own special way; whether through song or tribute, instrumental solo or dance, PowerPoint presentation or poem, comedy routine or juggling act, each student has a chance to shine a light on their family’s role in journeying with them to this milestone.  Saturday evening, following the formal activities, all of our graduates are invited to attend a party event hosted by our Briercrest Student Development Department under the leadership of our BCA chaplain.

On Sunday afternoon, we gather again for the formal Commencement Ceremony (open to all) for the awarding of diplomas, reflections by the valedictorian and the presentation of the graduating class, followed by the “Alumni Tea.”   We are looking forward to celebrating with you this June!

At BCA I was challenged both academically and spiritually, and at the same time provided an amazing community that I will never forget.
