Briercrest Christian Academy Highlights

How did you end up at BCA? My husband was hired at Briercrest to teach Philosophy so we moved here from ON.

What do you teach at BCA? I teach Biology, Environmental and Health Science, Christian Ethics, and Psychology.

How long have you taught? I have been a teacher at BCA since 2014!

What is your favorite memory about your job at BCA? My very first year at BCA our grade 12 class planned, coordinated, and pulled off a single shot Music lip sync video of our whole school body - moving through different key locations, with students dressed up in uniforms and holding key props to show all the different aspects of our school life. It was fantastic!

Briercrest Christian Academy, then Caronport High School, doing a lip dub music video!!

What do you believe is the most important thing about your job? My favorite part of my job is that I have the opportunity to Invite students to deeply consider their assumptions about what the world, people, and God are and to consider carefully the ways God reveals himself to us in Creation, scripture, and in the people we love and the people we fear.

How have you seen students' lives changed as they encounter God at BCA?  Students who come all cocky and aloof become warm and full of grace and service. Students who come very shy and reserved move into leadership. Students who see school as useless, slowly warm up to the idea that we can talk about interesting things and that teachers actually care about them as people.
