Briercrest Christian Academy Highlights
How did you end up at BCA? We moved to Caronport in 1994 for my husband Mark to teach grade 6. I worked at Caronport Community Church and started volunteering at the high school when our daughter reached grade 9. I was hired as the Administrative Assistant in 2014 and as the Event Manager at BCA in 2019.
What is your role at BCA? I help out a bit in the office as needed and on a non-Covid year, would be in charge of the events that happen at the school (Christmas Gala, Graduation, Career Fair, Cheesecake Cafe). I also lead a small group of grade 10 girls.
How long have you been on staff at BCA? I have been on staff since 2014 (6 yrs)
What is your favorite memory about your job at BCA? I think it would be working with the grads in their grade 12 year. I enjoy helping them plan and organize their graduation, working with them on decorating and putting the program together, and then seeing it all come together for a wonderful celebration at grad.
What do you believe is the most important thing about your job? Helping kids reach their potential, both in their relationship with the Lord and in life skills. I enjoy coming alongside kids who want to grow and learn and develop into strong Christian adults.
How have you seen students' lives changed as they encounter God at BCA? I know students who have come through BCA and have gone into the world having a solid, Christian base. Being surrounded by Christian teachers, other Christian students, and in a community where there are many opportunities to serve God and get to know Him better are all things that contribute to a student's spiritual strength when they leave here.
